As part of Meliá Hotels International Opera Cloud rollout, the Spanish Hotel group has collaborated with Mastel Hospitality to launch their first flagship properties in Cancun and Playa del Carmen. The properties, Paradisus Cancun with more than 657 rooms and Paradisus Playa del Carmen and La Perla with more than 881 rooms form the jewel in the crown of the group, in the Mexican Caribbean.
The project had many challenging aspects since both hotels previously had different management solutions. With the introduction of Opera cloud, the hotel’s software stack was centralized into a single platform.
In addition to the challenges of a project of such a magnitude, vacation management was added as an additional Holiday Type requiring more complex functionalities of the PMS system. Another important part of this project was the integration of the Mexican government’s fiscal integration with Opera Cloud. By finalizing the fiscal integration, Melíá Hotels International paved the way for future Hotels utilizing Opera Cloud.
Meliá’s deployment of Human Resources in these important hotels has been extraordinary, giving all the necessary support to the local teams through its own personnel from the group’s regional and global systems departments, and the support of the team of consultants from Mastel Hospitality.
